running it under Rosetta
I _feel_, that RB is due to certain properties much slower than
other apps.
I reported some time ago, that a project requires 5-7 minutes to
compile
on Intel using OS X using the current RB IDE - while RB 5.5.5 is
moderately
fast.
Check out how much memory translated uses when running RB 2005/2006
I've seen my machine spin the pinwheel with only 10% cpu being used
I upgraded to 2Gb RAM and things are better
