Are you sure?

I have various control characters set in the string-controls. You should first simply type the characters you want in a text-only program (TextEdit for the Mac eg) and copy from there into Rb's string constant. Works for me. I even use in that way complete html/ xtml templates as constants.

Well, I'm on RB2006r2 Windows XP and the constant accept the whole text as you say only as the default value. But, in the localized versions it doesn't, it just paste the first line, the others won't get through....
Really a piti.
I guess I'll fill a bug report :)
Thanks

Copy-paste works perfectly for any character (even whole texts) in string-constants.

I've used constants for line breaks on occasion, to make code a bit
more readable than Chr(13). I can just type the line breaks into
string constants (2006r2 pro Mac) (you may need to set to String by
manually clicking the button), failing that copy and paste a line
break in.
