The action is so obvious that I do not know.
I had the feeling that there was a crash (something weird), not a
'simple design trouble' (no pun intended).

Does the prompt really show up?
Here, on Mac OS 10.4.7, the statement:
b=3DSelectColor("Choose a colour:",c)
shows the colorpicker without the "Choose a colour:" message (no =20
prompt displayed).
