About HTMLViewer on Linux
I have worked a bit more on HTMLViewer (all three platforms). I told you
before on my results with Windows XP SPII HE.
"Now is the time" to talk about Linux (using Novell suse 10.1).
At first, it does not worked (nothing appears)... then I found it
worked... a bit like on what I saw on Windows (same Pentium IV laptop).
Some explanations are needed at this stage:
1. Boot Novell suze 10.1
2. Load REALbasic 2006 Release 3
(from the Menu: Development -> Development Environment -> REALbasic
2006 Release 3)
3. Make a copy of the original folder from Mac OS X to a FAT32 formatted
Memory Stick
The project, its external items folder and the Help folder (with all
html and images files)
4. Copy the folder on the Linux Desktop.
5. Load (Open...) the project from the File menu (REALbasic 2006 Release 3)
6. Press the Run button (REALbasic 2006 Release 3)
7. Click in the Home BevelButton who loads the index.html file from the
Help folder who is located beside the project.
Nothing.
Emile is furious, take a breath, slow down a bit, moves my project Help
folder on the Desktop, open it and drop the index.html file on the
HTMLViewer control (placed in the window)...
Now, I get my Help Table of Contents. No background image in the table
where I placed the "Table of Contents" sentence and unlike on Windows, I
do not get the background color replacement (read the CSS background
Property there: <http://www.w3schools.com/css/pr_background-image.asp>).
At this moment, I wanted to see what version (I can have made some
mistake) of the html file I used and so I loaded that file using
Epiphany (the first in the list, I didn't wanted to see the rendered
html but the code, the second was FireFox)) and I made a mistake, but I
saw my wonderfull background image where HTMLViewer do not displays it
to me...
Any help ?
Emile
Before I totally forget, a right click in suse 10.1 returns nothing
where on Mac OS X it returns some entries and on Windows it returns... a
lot of entries (popup menu).
