Tired of how slow my G4 was, I just bought a MacBook and installed
2GB RAM.
I wasn't expecting this to make all that much difference with
REALbasic performance, but in fact, it's significantly faster. This
appears to be mostly because my old computer had 768MB RAM, and would
wind up swapping quite a bit. With REALbasic, NetNewsWire Lite, Mail,
and Firefox running, I'm using almost 1.2GB RAM, so it's no wonder.
If anyone has been holding off on buying a MacBook until Intel-native
REALbasic comes out, I say jump now.
