I think this is the reason. RB2006 is now very useable.


My only real complaint with RB2006 is that it is so slooooow. I often find myself going back to RB 5.5.5 when starting a new project, because it lets me work so much more efficiently and quickly. I can flesh out most of the details there, and then switch to RB2006 when I am close to done.

I'm not on a terribly slow machine, 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM. I also have a new Intel iMac with 1.5 GB, but it is even worse under Rosetta. It will be interesting to see how the UB builds of RB itself run, whenever they come out. I'd really like to see a round of improvements to the performance of the IDE, it needs it.
