I did a web search on "Parallel Switch" and found a few candidates,
e.g. A
Belden switch for $79 at
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2252683
Yes, I looked at that device. Looks like it only does automatic
printer selection - I need to be able to direct it to activate port A
or port B on demand.
What USB-parallel hardware did you find that works on a Mac? I've
tried two
manufacturers so far with no luck. Keyspan's only knows how to
talk to
specific printers, and they could offer no advice on communicating
generically to a parallel device.
Actually, it's a somewhat custom, proprietary cable for our oddball
equipment... I don't think it would work with anything else.
Thanks -
Eric Williams
