I would think that you could call Python using declares. But you'd still
only be able to pass strings between Rb and Python.
Yes, that's the problem. The thing is, RBScript is compiled and executed,
whereas everything else must be interpreted by parsing strings, which means
scanning the text, which means invariarable and utter lack of real
processing speed (as compared to RBScript).
I think the parser demo I put out a few weeks ago would be among the fastest
alternative solutions, but still, don't do anything else but strings, and
only then if you need to do stuff you can't in RBScript or it'd quickly
become an excercise in futility.
I tend to avoid declares. I use only one declare in my Metropolis project
and I would avoid that one if I could.
I agree with one of the earlier posters that the only alternative that would
stand any chance would be a plugin based one, but it shouldn't just be an
interpreter plugin.
