If you just need a simple installer / uninstaller, you are probably best
off with an installer package like InnoSetup. It's easy to use and has
great compression.
Just wanted to stand up and testify: I love InnoSetup. After learning the
scripting language to handle any "non-standard" installer steps, I have yet
to come across any installation procedure that cannot be done in InnoSetup.
Plus it creates a standard-looking installer wizard. There's a very helpful
user community, with plenty of third parties adding functionality. Plus it's
free.
To reiterate my central point: I LOVE InnoSetup.
