What are WIDTH and HEIGHT? Constants? > Dim thumb As Picture .. > If iWid = 0 Or Not isNumeric( iWid ) Then No need to call isNumeric on an integer -- integers are always numeric. > thumb = NewPicture( iWid, iHi * ratio, 32) This is where you're getting the type mismatch error? It all looks fine to me. I agree with the earlier poster: try this in a new, empty project, where I'm sure it will work. Then start comparing that project to your real one, until you find the difference. Also try introducing locals of a different name: Dim aoeu1 As Integer = iWid Dim aoeu2 As Integer = iHi * ratio Dim aoeu3 As Picture = NewPicture( aoeu1, aoeu2, 32 ) and see if that helps. If the error moves onto one of the first two lines, then you have a duplicate definition of iWid, iHi, or ratio. If the error appears on the third line, then I'm really baffled!
