If method-call inlining were added to RB's compiler, it would be an
automatic optimization, not an explicit language statement.
Would it be worthwhile to add a means to provide "hints" to the
compiler for methods that we'd prefer were inlined.
I think that's consistent with how inlining in C compilers works
isn't it ?

In C, inline or lack of inline can cause compile errors. It's not an
error free hint.
