Hi Long,
Sorry for delay, I am on digest of RB list.

> 1) Is there a security on single user machine?
Can you clarify what you mean here?
* encryption of info in disk files? Yes Valentina have it.
> 2) Is server secured and just as fast?
Again what you mean here under secured?
* SSL? Right today we have upload 2.5 b11 of Vserver and Valentina ADKs
that introduce support of SSL and Bonjour.
> 3) How does synchronization between client/server?
Hmm, again not clear what you mean.
Do you mean about synch of data in 2 databases? One of which is on server
and second on client computer? We do not have yet such built-in feature. We
plan add features that will simplify this task for 3.0.
Or you mean something else?
> 4) How much do you pay for support?
ZERO.

Not easy question :-)
Postgre SQL is big product.
But mainly it is Relational SQL Server-oriented DBMS.
Not more, not less.
Valentina was born as embedded single usr engine and more to server side.
Valentina has task to satisfy as single-user Application developers, so
multi-user app developers. Satisfy as technically so with license.
Valentina was born as database with Object-Oriented features. Ideas come
from 1993. 5 years of work on paper (mainly) have bring new unique solutions
and algorithms which was needed for implementing of that OO features. With
time term OO DBS was grabbed by ODMG standard, so I have start use for
Valentina term Object-Relational.
That new solutions SUDDENLY have give nice benefit, Valentina in 1998 have
demonstrate speed that beat FileMaker/4D/NeoAccess/V12/mySQL (major dbs on
MAC market on that time) in 100-1000 times.
-------
With time Valentina have come into C++, REALbasic, Director, Revolution,
COM, VB, .NET, PHP, Java, ... Areas.
A lots of developers have set own different tasks, which we have add into
engine. E,g encryption of files, support of pictures, and so on.
Actually the fact that Valentina support so many APIs from
the single vendor is very valuable.
We have a lots of developers that use in the same time different IDE and
languages. Can you use in REALbasic and e.g. Visual BASIC or C# the same API
to work with database if you use Postgre, mySQL or SQL Lite? Usually no
because each of that product have big zoo park of connection tools and APIs.
With Valentina we provide the same logical model and API for all that
languages.
-----------
Style of coding.
Postgre or mySQL force you write dance with your code around SQL.
Valentina also support this way, but only ONE OF..
It wonders how many Valentina developers use API style of coding or
Class-style. You can read more about style of coding in this article:
