In my experience, they are extremely slow. I have a client who uses the DataDirect drivers (and used to use the Merant ones) to batch data out of a large Progress application at night. The data are then pushed into an MS SQL Server database and used for reporting. The difference in performance between the two (MS SQL and Progress via ODBC) for the same data set is an order of magnitude or more in many cases. For batch transfers, they're fine. I wouldn't try to use them for live data. -- Charles Calvert Celtic Wolf, Inc.
