/tmp gets cleaned out on every restart
Am I correct in assuming that this is completely different from
the TemporaryFolder derived from RB? Does the result of
TemporaryFolder ever get cleaned out?
I also noticed that GetTemporaryFolderitem returns a file inside
the result of TemporaryFolder. Does the temporary folderitem
inherit the properties of being cleaned out of the temporary folder?
I don't think they are
TemporaryItems absolute path is in /private/var/tmp
/tmp is just a link to /private/tmp
So they're not in the same location
without reading a pile of cleanup scripts I'm not sure if the
TemporaryItems does get cleaned out regularly or on restart
I think the assumption you can make is they are temporary and they
will be cleaned up 'sometime' however any well behaved application
(in my opinion) should make every effort to clean up after
themselves when done and should check if any cleaning up should be
done when it is started up.
I'd assume the OS takes care of applications that crash before they
delete the file._______________________________________________
