Hi,
REALbasic 2006 Release 4 Mac OS X 10.4.8 When will we get an acces to the "Uniform Type Identifiers" properties (I expect to see these in the FolderItem Class Properties list) ? Cheers, Emile If you do not know what is/are "Uniform Type Identifier"(s), read the excellent ars technica article by John Siracusa here: http://arstechnica.com/reviews/os/macosx-10.4.ars/11 The article introduction is at http://arstechnica.com/reviews/os/macosx-10.4.ars/11 (and is accessible from the each pages, thus from page 11). You can also learn a bit about them using AppleScript: tell application "Finder" return properties of item 1 of front window end tell and search the kind and type identifier of the returned properties; for example, read below: .../... other previous properties from the list: skipped! kind:"com.apple.appleworks.document", file type:"CWSS", file creator:"BOBO", type identifier:"com.apple.appleworks.cwk", locked:false, busy status:false, short version:"", long version:""} Note: the above file is an AppleWorks SpreadSheet file under Mac OS X. Another place to read informations about the "Uniform Type Identifiers" is the "BPRuntimeConfig.pdf" PDF file (444KB); I get mine from the "Sept06DevDocPDF" file. Check the Apple developer web site. _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives of this list here: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
