Hi,

REALbasic 2006 Release 4
Mac OS X 10.4.8

1. Say you have entered two (or more) File Types. use the arrow keys to go to
the - for example - last defined file type.

Now, press the Return (or Enter) key to edit the actually selected File Type.

Et voilĂ : you get the Display Name field of THE FIRST File Type selected and
ready to make changes.

This clearly is a misfeature (did you call that a bug lately ?)

Do you get the same ?

2. I have sometimes some 'crazy ideas'; this just happens, in a brand new
FileType I wrote:

Display Name:    application/appleworks
Object Name:    com.apple.appleworks.document
MacType:    CWWP
MacCreator:    BOBO
Extension:    .cwk

The problem lies in the Object Name entry: once I remvoed the dots, the error
does not comes back... [I do not saw a warning about that in the Language
Reference, yet.]

Nota: CWWP is no longer representative of what I want to achieve; BOBO is the
AppleWorks 6.2.9 (Mac OS X) creator; .cwk is the "generic extension" for all 6
modules.

And I get this error message:

<error msg>
An error has occured while compiling this project.

Message:    Syntax error.
File:        My simple project.rbp
Component:    FTAppleWorks
Code:        Module FTAppleWorks
Item:        FTAppleWorks
                                          <OK>
</error msg>

OK, if you are still reading here, you know what happens, but it happens to me
in the reverse order: 1: the error message, 2: the error discovery...

Note: using the underscore instead of a dot does not lead in an error.

Who says it is easy ?

Cheers,

Emile
