This idea has nothing to do with strong vs weak typing. I don't
propose changing the type requirements for variables; I just question
the need for redundant data entry on my part.
It's not redundant when someone else has to fix it 6 months later :)
It why I always hated the VB syntax for variable types
$ for string etc
The very first job I ever did was maintenance of someone else's code
I learned a lot about what not to do for the poor S.O.B. that comes
along to fix it later
State explicitly what your intention is instead of forcing someone
else to discover it later to save a few keystrokes.
