Thanks everyone, I appreciate all the help. I think I've found the problem - it seems that for some reason the device isn't receiving the data at the speed it said it should. The baud rate, etc is all setup as specified, but I needed to put in a manual pause in there to make it work correctly...so far it looks to have worked. Xmitwait didn't seem to have any effect either way, oh well - at least it's working :)
