I did find the "bubble burst" article a bit alarming in that it
linked to a 4 day-old posting saying how much trouble GTK+
maintenance is in.

RB for Linux is based on GTK+ for its underlying GUI and graphics :-(
As a data point, I would have a client shipping desktop linux
printing solutions if they could print more than 72dpi - Germany is
driving the demand.
