Why should they put ANY effort into changing something that is correct and standard behavior, to make it incorrect and nonstandard? Standards are useful only to the extent that they're followed. Let's leave this correct behavior alone, and focus on fixing things that are incorrect.

Word opens with a default untitled window, but as soon as you choose from the file menu a recent doc, the untitled doc is changed to the recent doc.

As does the so known TextEdit.

RB opens with an untitled doc, and if you open a recent project the untitled remains. Given that RB also defines different project templates it either should open like Xcode, or behave like Word. Further, if you would want to start with an untitled ( a new) project, then it is not correct that RB is in fact assuming that it will be a desktop application.

In my opinion, I prefer having a preference, with radio buttons to select: "open blank project", "show open dialog", "open specific project", "don't open any window", like does AppleWorks, for example. So, when I use the same project for long, I set the 3rd option. If I switch to another project temporarily (more than once), I'd set the 2nd or 4th option._______________________________________________
