It is not out of date if it works and it has an impact on the market - just
like traditional channel sales. Google's, just like any other successful
company's success, cannot be reduced to such a gross simplification. Some
products and companies lend themselves to taking advantage of specific types
of channels (and the cloud of press around each), but not all are the same.
