This version works great with MBS plugins loaded on my Intel iMac with 2 GB RAM, but I found that it's unusable on my G4 PowerBook which has only 640 MB RAM. It exhibited pretty much the same symptoms you've described (but it did eventually finish precompiling). It seems to me this version is much more RAM hungry than previous versions. Could you be attempting this on a machine with limited RAM?
You might want to see if the MBS Plugin Manager can be of help in your situation. On 1/2/07, Daniel L. Taylor <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
I've spent a couple hours trying to get both the Mac and Windows versions of RB2007r1 to successfully compile something with the plugins I use in the Plugins folder. My plugins include MBS, Einhuger, and my own PreemptiveThreadTD plugin. If I leave the Plugins folder empty or just throw in one or two plugins, it works. But the IDE is literally choking when I put the full collection in the folder. On either system it hashes the HD, slows the system to a crawl, grunts for 15-20 minutes, and crashes. This happens when I try to build or simply run in the debugger. I use the Einhuger plugins in the folder, which is less than half of what they offer, and MBS stuff isn't really split up in a way that I could throw some of those out. Anyone else having this problem? RB2006r4 was horribly slow whenever I made a plugin change, but at least it finished.
