Cocoa is JUST an API set and Framework, just like Carbon -- just like
Java -- just like REALbasic.
The only thing "special" about Cocoa is that Apple is promoting it as
the *preferred* API set and framework. There is nothing "magical"
about Cocoa, it makes easy things easy, medium things not too
difficult, and some things nearly impossible.
It's special in that it's the one Apple has said they encourage
developers to use.
That's a clue that at some point Carbon will be deprecated just as
Cocoa for Java has been.
Just like they recommended you switch to XCode some time ago
Trying to put it in terms a Windows user would relate to it's like
saying you do or do not support Vista
Putting it into Vista terms is not saying you do not support Vista that
is not even close Match. Close match would be like saying you do not
support WCF on Vista (their new UI framework which by the way REALbasic
does not support). Saying you do not support Vista would be like saying
you do not support OS X, not like saying you do not support Cocoa.
