I've experienced similar sluggishness, but it was on a PB with about half the processor speed and a third or so of the RAM yours has. On the other hand, the project I was trying to work on is only 2.5 MB in size. It's a little disconcerting to see that a better endowed computer does the same thing. RB 2007R1 is unusable on that Mac. If it's any consolation, it works rather nicely on my Intel iMac.

I just spent my first day working on my 20MB complex project using 2007r1 (on a 1.67GHz late model PowerBook with 2GB RAM and Mac OS X 10.4.8). Up until today I was forced to use 5.5.5. Ay Caramba! It's totally obvious that RS don't use this IDE to develop the IDE itself. I feel like I'm in a bad dream. Opening a tab takes 30 seconds, moving to another method takes 30 seconds. Adding a new property to App takes 1.5 minutes (click Add Property, wait 30 seconds, enter name, tab, wait 30 seconds, enter type, return, wait 30 seconds...), closing a tab 30 seconds. What's going on? It would seem that if I have a complex class or window open, the IDE pretends it's running on a TRS-80. OK, I have a few hundred properties in some of these classes, but why 30 seconds to do _anything_. Does anyone have a bug report for this behaviour? Surely I can't be the only one. Does RS actually test the IDE with anything other than toy projects? No, I'm not going to buy a Windows computer.
