I remember, in a RB Developer Magazine (a while back now), Joe Strout mentionning that with the new RB foundations, it was a Children's task (more or less) to create a new compiler for RB to run on different platforms (ie. Pocket PC, PALM...).
Compiler, yes, but a ported framework? Not nearly as easy. The majority of the work in adding a new platform is not in the compiler itself (unless the standards of that platform aren't documented well), but in making all of the REALbasic classes work using the native APIs of the target platform.
As for the iPhone, there have been no details on how *anyone* can develop for it, and it's not entirely clear that they will. After all, the iPod still remains a mostly closed development platform.
