I'm speaking generically and RealSoftware may use slightly different
definitions.
The _language_ is the syntax. If...then, For...Next, etc. It also
includes the inhertiance _structure_. For example, that you can
inherit from a class.
The _framework_ is the set of available functionality. A Rect is part
of the framework as is an ListBox. That a ListBox _can_ extend a Rect
is part of the language. That it _does_ is part of the framework.
The _GUI_ is what you interact with to create a program. For example,
Tab completion is part of the GUI (although it uses its knowledge of
the frameowrk and language to do its job). In theory, you could
completely replace the GUI with a different one but still have the
same language and framework.
The _compiler_ takes the program and turns it into an executable.
Again, this component could be replaced with a different one.
Does this help?
