The framework is the set of classes and global methods that are built
into RB.  Things you could write yourself, or get from a plugin, except
that you don't have to since they're built in.  Examples include
Dictionary, InStr, FolderItem, and Cos.  (Note that the vast majority
of what is in the "Language Reference" is actually framework, not
language at all.)

But I'll agree that the difference is sometimes subtle.  In RB, Date is
a class, part of the framework; but in VB, it's an intrinsic type, part
of the language.
