But even that's an exaggeration.  What's an optimizing compiler?  If
it's a compiler that does optimizations, then we've had one for a
couple years now.  I don't know how MANY optimizations the RB compiler
does these days, but it certainly does do some.  Probably not as many
as a good C compiler, but not none, either.
