Not Necessarily client side.
To be feature rich RS would need to implement a Server Side script
engine for whatever scripting model they come up with so that the
client side can respond to event driven requests. Events would need
to be HHTP POSTED to the server side script engine, which would need
to generate a response and inject it back into the HTML source
clientside ala AJAX.
Of course, this is all doable right now with a LOT of time, patience
and knowhow, but it's not as easy as selecting a compilation target.
Dammit....

I agree, it would almost be like creating activeX in vb. Ofcourse
crossplatform and not as many security issues!!!!
Could that happen?

RBscript would be a start, but I'm sort of hanging out for an 'X'
script event model so I can use embedded GUI elements in an event

I know that at the very least WebKit supports embedding of nearly
all Cocoa UI elements, and I'd be very surprised if IE on windows
did not allow embedding GDI elements. If we only had support for
those two web targets I'd be a very happy camper. Perhaps the move
to Cocoa needs to be done in order to get the mac side of thing
working???
Oh, so you want something on the client side, like an applet or a
plugin?!
I have wanted a java compile to do that FOREVER :) Wouldn't it be fun
to build for java and put into a webpage! WOW that would be great.
