I am absolutely willing to do this. I'm just under the impression
that someone else has already done this and might be willing to share
the knowledge.

As long as there are Carbon routines to do what you want, then
declares will work. Cocoa is a totally different thing.
I hope you are willing to delve into the WindowManager to translate
the C code required.
