I'd like to take a moment to note that I just announced this morning RBDevZone, a community for professional REALbasic developers. The press release hasn't hit the news mailing list (or the forums, for that matter), but you can check it out here:
RBDevZone: http://www.rbdevzone.com Press release: http://rbdevzone.com/About/PressReleases/AnnouncingRBDevZone/tabid/80/Default.aspx This community is not free, however, but it would not be unreasonable for us to add some free capabilities to our forums (and we can add e-mail subscriptions as well). You know, we should maybe look at this as an opportunity. RS has done a fine job of running the lists, but as a community, it's possible that we'd have the collective resources to do even better. If the site running the mailing list also hosted other RB resources -- for example, a wiki or a resource directory like rbgarage -- then it could all tie together into a community-support site better than anything we've had before. This may be just dreaming, but it's something to shoot for. Speaking of RBGarage.com, that'd be a sensible place for the new mailing lists, in that it's stable, already RB-themed, and Dave has shown a long-term commitment to RB support already. Of course Charles has too with his valuable DeclareSub.com site. What other RB community sites should we be discussing?
