I guess I would be disappointed to see the RB sponsored list(s) go
away too.
But, as a reminder, there is still always the RB Off Topic list if
you care to use that as a place to gather. You can subscribe here:

I know everyone else has already responded to how sad this is but I
thought I should put my response down on the list too.
Although I am not a frequent poster to list, I read it all the time
and have learned most everything I know about Realbasic (and most
of my general programming knowledge) from this list. When I started
reading this list I had no idea strings could even have an
encoding. Realbasic v2 was my intro to programming. Now I sell
software online all over the world and in major retail chains all
over the US. The community that this list has provided has allowed
me create software and learn from others that are more
knowledgeable than I.
Moving to a forum is not something I will do. Unfortunately it just
doesn't fit for me.
I am very interested in which new list will be everyone choice. I
hope we can all decide together, having everyone on the list move
to the same new list would at least be one positive outcome.
To RealSoftware, I strongly disagree with this decision and hope
that you reconsider.

We are finding that there is a lot of duplication occurring
between our Mailing Lists and our Forums. As a result, some
people are having difficulty finding answers to their questions
since information is stored in so many places. REAL Software has
decided to consolidate the NUG with the online Forums. On Monday,
February 12, 2007, the NUG and other mailing lists will no longer
be active. We encourage you to continue your REALbasic and REAL
SQL Server discussions on the Forums.
If you are not presently a member of the forum, please sign up
today at http://forums.realsoftware.com! It’s free to join and
there are lots of topic areas for discussion, like Getting
Started, Databases, Games, etc. We also have platform-specific
areas where you can ask questions or start discussions relative to
your platform.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We understand
that some people prefer an email-based mailing list to an online
forum. However, we feel that consolidating our lists into the
online Forum is the best option for the community.
Thank you for your support.
