The "NUG replacement" may have been a short-lived list in real time,
but I guess we all will still remember this week in several years
from now.
A lot of decisions have been made - some wrong, like shutting down
the NUG; some fast and generous, like Charles' to create/host the
replacement (Thanks, Charles!); and some brave, like Geoff
reconsidering the decision to effectively shut down the homeplace of
the RB community* (thanks to Geoff for this).
All in all a remarkable week. I've always considered the folks on the
NUG a somewhat special community, and I'm even more impressed now by
how reasonable people have reacted to this "crisis". No name calling,
no trollfeast, just a bunch of people expressing their
dissatisfaction in a civilized manner and at the same time throwing
together ideas, expertise and resources to build a replacement as
fast as possible. Pretty cool bunch of people.

* Some might argue if the RB-NUG equals the RB user community; I say:
if there is one at all, it is the NUG. So sue me. ;)

reprieve, (Yah!)
After lunch the New Pirates List begins to close down, save for the
odd angry shot
Now 4.30pm we are back to where we were on Monday. All one big
happy NUG family ;-)
I wonder what'll happen next week.
(Perhaps it's time to gather arms and storm down the hated doors of
the Evil Forums - Vive La Revolution)
