At the top of each message sent on the mailing list it says,
"quote only the message parts you need to." Lately I am seeing a
rash of messages where people are failing to trim even the garbage
footers of the messages so we get 30 to 40 lines useless stuff. I
think it is important to trim off what you don't need since it
ends up in the NUG archive and in general people don't like having
to skip over that stuff when in digest mode.

Here is an example of the kind of things you don't need to quote:

The above text is repeated over and over in the same message
because of a lack of trimming. Please help us to prevent brain
overload and use your bit bucket to recycle those dangling message
footers!
