Markus, Esellerate itself it not the cause of your headache but rather the implementation by the developer. The esellerate feature you are talking about is called "Activation". With activation a developer can limit the amount of machines a program can be installed on. They could chose 1 or 1000 or even not to use the feature at all (which I believe most developers do.) Developers also have the ability to add extra Activations on a per order basis.
If you have an issue with the developers policy try contacting them and see what they say. Being a developer that does use esellerate I have been very pleased with them (besides not being able to build Win32 EWS targets which will hopefully change soon.) I would definitely want to know if my serial number system was causing aggravation with my customers. -Drew On Feb 24, 2007, at 4:32 AM, Markus Winter wrote: > I love the programs written by mekentosj - more to support their > ongoing > efforts than out of a need for the program I purchased a licence > for Papers > which seems very nice indeed (but unless it can replace EndNote it > won’t > play a major role on my Mac). > > Now to the less nice bit – I absolutely hated the eSellerate > registration & > validation process.
