How have you tried to push the button? After reading this thread I went to poke around a bit, and what I found is moderately disappointing.
1. Only a few of the controls on a window actually register as those controls. I.e. a push button with a caption of "Log In" registers as 'button 'Log In'', but every other non-button control registers as 'unknown (UI element X)' where 'X' is its sequential number. 2. All of the unknown elements react to only a bare minimum of interaction, and I can't seem to find a way to move from unknown element to unknown element. System Events will happily send keystrokes to the elements, but there's no way for me to ensure I'm at the correct element. 3. I have no idea why most of the element would appear as unknown while buttons would register correctly.
