  Tony,

    I am running on a PowerBook G4, 1GHz, 1 GB RAM, a PPC machine
still on OSX 10.3.9

My experience: with the exception of the ancient RB 5.5.5 , this
release is the best and fastest I have been using. Now, this needs to
be qualified.

IDE startup is very slow. Close to 50 bounces of its Dock icon! But
then I do this only a few times a week. So no big deal.

First compile of my bigger projects (about 4 to 6 MB) is very slow,
especially with lots of plugins. But thereafter, running the debugger
is very fast, the fastest ever since the newer RBs. This is my
perception since I don't bother with speed measurements.

Several weeks ago I had the use of the high end Macbook Pro 17"
and tried a early Beta version of r2, before the incremental compile
was functional. What a rocket!!!

HTH
Peter
