Hi all, ADCNews Issue 479 talks about REALbasic 2007 Release 2 (bottom of page, section dev tools): http://developer.apple.com/adcnews/index.html
The most interesting part is below (click in the link in the ADCNews page): <quote> About REALbasic A rapid application development (RAD) environment that provides developers a marked increase in productivity over other cross-platform development tools. REALbasic includes drag-and-drop capability to enable you to quickly create a user interface design, then incorporate the code behind it to add power and functionality. REALbasic is highly compatible with Visual Basic, so Visual Basic developers are productive very quickly with REALbasic. REALbasic also comes with a utility to help convert Visual Basic projects to REALbasic where they can be compiled for Windows, Mac, even Linux — with the click of a checkbox. What’s New in this Version - App.BugVersion: Now written out correctly to the plist. - AppleEvent: StringParam works properly again. - Bundle Identifier: A constant can now be used for this value. - Many more enhancements. </quote> Guess what is in the "Many more enhancements" ? Code Folding, Debugger, File Types, Graphics.Clip, WeakRef, Modules can now contain classes, (I skipped some entries), StyledText (the infamous and buggy .RTFData). The skipped entries are important too, but I do not wanted to make a copy of the Release Notes. The listed entries are what RS feels are important in the new release. This gives a different light / view or 2007r2.
