From: Jason Clary <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: RE: How to make a live broadcast from a speaker and his slides? We do ours in two ways, depending on how good the slides need to be. 1) We use a scan converter hooked to a machine with PowerPoint and switch to that video feed when slides need to be shown, or 2) We use NetPodium (www.netpodium.com) and prepare our slides as jpeg images beforehand and use the NetPodium server to push url events to the end-user's web browser so we can get large slide images. NetPodium also has the ability to do polls and take questions from the audience which is a nice feature. I believe its a fairly expensive product, though. We've never had much luck with running multiple streams together for a live broadcast. Technically it should be possible (Especially if you want to use smil) but its difficult to judge how much bandwidth will be used at any given time. Since we have people viewing our programs on 28.8 modems, its easier for us to just use NetPodium which will precache all the slide images prior to starting the video stream so you don't have to worry about bandwidth during the broadcast. We would not like to capture their slides with camera from the screen. What other possibilities there are available? Risto Rautee Finland
