From: Michael Muller <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: sending realaudio output to a device other than the sound card i'm trying to write an application so that i can call on the phone and stream realaudio to the phone (not the sound card). can someone suggest a basic approach? i've thought of two approaches: 1) see if the engine i get back from the core exports the IRMAAudioDeviceManager interface and replace the IRMAAudioDevice interface with my own implementation of IRMAAudioDevice which routes the packets to my telephony cards. 2) implement a packethook or an audiohook to route the audio to my telephony device and try to remove/disable the audio device somehow. the first apprach is the one that makes the most sense to me. i'm slightly intimidated by the comment in the header which says "This interface is currently to be used ONLY by the RMA engine internally", but unless someone advises against this, i'll assume that this means i shouldn't CALL the interface, but implementing it is OK. the other part of the first approach that bothers me is that the "IRMAAudioDeviceManager" interface isn't documented. the comments don't say anything about not calling it, though. a little experimentation may tell me this, but how to i find an object that implements IRMAAudioDeviceManager? does the player? thanks in advance for any help! mike muller
