LiFe,
I agree with you completely on the Plugin features. There is a Premiere
plugin, but it is only for Version 5 (little old, I think) and I do not know
of a more resent version.
What would be very cool, would be to integrate RealProducer with Premiere -
you know, get the best of both worlds. At the very least, a plugin should be
developed.
To your issue with WinAmp, I do not expect that Real will supply a plugin
for it. This is just my humble, honest opinion, but WinAmp is a direct
competitor with RealJukebox. What I expect to see is that RealJukeBox will
adopt the festures WinAmp and Sonique have (ie: visual effects, etc..) as
they have done with the "skins" feature.
You argument for stalling multicast until a given number of users have
logged on is fabulous. If the server can be keyed up to wait until a given
number of users want to view a file on demand you will save the network.
Contrary to popular belief, more traffic flows over our networks than will
allow Unicast broadcasts of Mpeg quality video (I wish it were the other
way, but for some reason people still like to get their email? Go figure?).
Being able to tightly control the server to the domain and the
infrastructure is vital.
Matt
