Unfortunately, I suspect that many examples may be locked up behind company
firewalls, as is the case with us. For our current asynchronous online
lecture hall, we use RealText, RealPix, RealAudio, and RealFlash. The text
is a streamed transcription of the audio narration, while accompanying
artwork is displayed. The artwork has been in RealPix, but we're starting to
use Flash for most of that portion of the content now. We tried using the
streaming video of the teacher, but it didn't really seem to add a whole
lot. The nice thing is how all three media streams are coupled together,
making it very easy to use triggers to automatically or interactively move
forward or jump around through the content.

I am developing a project for the Teaching Learning and Technology Group
(TLTG) <http://www.tltgroup.org> of the American Association of Higher
Education in conjunction with Archipelago <www.archipelago.com>.
The project is to identify exemplary educatiuonal approaches using web
tech.
I am interested to know of any educational products using streaming media
(e.g. smil, audio, webcasting, etc.)
I will include appropriate project descriptions, urls, and email contact
info in the report to TLTG. If you know of any such gems, I'd love to see
them.
