Hi Dennis,

I do not know, wether this will help you or not. I think, the problem is not
the smil file. You said, there are .asp-pages to copy to your buddies
notebooks. Possible it will help you to install an standalone-webserver like
the personal webserver from microsoft. he "understands" most of .asp-
(vb-)scripts, as long there are not very different session-calls.

The point is, if a webserver is installed on a machine, you can call a page
over the localhost (http://127.0.0.0 or sometimes http://127.0.0.1). when
you calling a site in this way, the browser (e.g. Netscape or IE) knows, how
to handle the site. in this way, the browser understands, that he have to
call a site via the http protocoll.

hope, this will help you,

Thorsten Windrath,

|Hello All:
|
|I created a web-based tool for salespeople in my company which launches the
|RealPlayer in a few instances to play SMIL presentations. There
|are a couple
|images in the SMIL presentation that are linked to a webpage.
|
|For example:
| <img src="jobs1.gif?url=http://www.careershop.com/jobs.asp"
| region="searchjobs" fill="freeze" />
|
|I want to put the presentation on some laptops. The problem is that when I
|copy the entire presentation locally the links from the SMIL to web page
|file on the hard drive won't work.
|
|This doesn't work:
| <img src="jobs1.gif?url=jobs.asp"
| region="searchjobs" fill="freeze" />
|
|How do I link from the local SMIL to a local web page file? Surely someone
|must have tried this before. Thanks for any feedback!
