The RealPlayer Plugin has volume control methods. Thus, from a web page
you can use Javascript or VBScript commands to control volume or even
mute the player. You can get details on how this is done at
http://service.real.com/help/library/encoders.html and look for the
'Embedded RealPlayer Extended Functionality Guide' link. You might also
want to view chapter 8 of the 'RealSystem G2 Production Guide' for info
on embedding the player into a web page.
cheers!
