You can use reiserfs to break the 2gig limit, although this is a beta
filesystem and may cause you some problems. I've had a pretty good
experience with it for handling larger files such as you are going to
do.
You'll have to patch your kernel, recompile, install reiserfs tools and
you'll be set.
