Seems to work just fine from my Vaio C1X w/ built in camera.  I've not tried
it via firewire, but from the way the software works, I think both are seen
as the same device with a source selection.

Granted, you need to be plugged in or get a serious add-on battery because
you need to run the processor at 100% to do video.  It will do good quality
audio streams on power saver mode, though.

I know someone who had one of the Sony Viaos and was able to run the
RealProducer on it.  Apparnetly they expose their capture card as if it
was a normal capture device to our RealProducer.  I think this was the
case only when running on the Win98 OS.
