Subject: What hardware configuration?
I'd like to hear what hardware configurations people are using to encode
video and audio from a VCR direct to .rm file using RealProducer G2.
We have the Osprey 100 capture card on a Dell Pentium II XPS R450 with 256
MB RAM. Windows 95 OSR2 and RealProducer Plus G2 are on drive C: I am
encoding onto a second internal 20 GB EIDE hard drive which is only 1%
fragmented. The best I can encode going direct from a VHS VCR through
RealProducer Plus G2 is 80 Kbps target bit rate and 160 x 120 image size
using YUV12 color. If I use a larger image size or a higher bit rate
RealProducer crashes. Then the video driver is locked up and I have to
reboot. I have rebooted about 80 times today trying various settings.
