My current understanding is that Open Grid Protocol deals with client-
server interaction and is based on HTTP protocol where as SETP is UDP
based real time protocol including client-server and server-server
interactions. I assume that Open Grid Protocol is to some level tied
to the terminonology and concepts of Second Life where as SETP is an
independent protocol existing currently only on theoretical level. In
other words SETP can be refactored swiftly if better ideas and
feedback bring up better solutions. My personal feeling is that SETP
is quite close to such maturity level that first proof of concept
implementation can be done. It may well be that SETP will provide
ideas and alternative solution models to existing protocols like Open
Grid Protocol.

Tommi
