Hi Pierre, Nobody here needs me to defend them, so let me just give my point of view as a list-subscriber here.
1) It's fine if you don't like the term, or idea, of gurus, but there *are* people in the REBOL community who have deep REBOL knowledge, and are generous with it. They've been around, and have earned our respect. We value their opinions *very* highly. Ladislav, Volker, and Gabriele are three of these people. If you disagree with anyone here, that's no problem. The value in this list comes from open discussion, new views, and sharing knowledge. You seem like a real thinker--one who understands things at much deeper level than most--which is great, but your posts (my opinion only here) are coming across more like "I'm right and you're wrong", rather than being in the spirit of finding common ground and better explanations for things. Since I don't know much about you, but I do know the local gurus, I'll naturally give more weight to their opinions. 2) This is a global community. Fortunately, for people like me, English is the language we generally use to discuss REBOL. It's not the first language of everyone here, and I *really* appreciate the effort it takes for people to work in this common ground. Your "look that one up..." comment was totally uncalled for. I mention it because another, very special, thing about the REBOL community is its friendliness. We have very few flame wars; people get along amazingly well, even though many of us have vastly different opinions about things. I hope you take this in the spirit it was written, constructively. I didn't post it publicly to make you defend your position, or yourself, but rather as a general reminder for all of us. Thanks for listening, -- Gregg P.S. Hey folks, don't forget you can tag your messages, with blocks leading the subject, and REBOL.org will index them. -G -- To unsubscribe from the list, just send an email to lists at rebol.com with unsubscribe as the subject.
