XML-RPC is much much more in line with REBOL than SOAP ever could be. It's hasn't necessarily achieved the elegance level of our fave language, but it is _heavily_ used by lots of people - for backend communication, intranet connection, where the giants would like you to use (the messy, messy) SOAP instead. Public web services aren't half as interesting as internal ones.
